Surfing
Frigate’s Passage is a hidden treasure. A world class break and one of the best in Fiji, it is a consistent hollow left hander. Surf enthusiasts enjoy the big country experience that Frigate’s offers, uncrowded, pristine and an amazing experience.
Eco-Adventure
Beqa (pronounced ’Benga’) is the ancestral home of Fiji Islands’ fierce and famous Fire Walkers. Lalati staff from 3 local villages love to share their stories and lives with guests.
Resort owners and managers take careful consideration of the environment and ecology, setting Lalati apart as a luxury eco resort. They embrace the local customs and traditions, and consistently educate on the preservation of the fragile environment and unique culture of the area.
Herbal walks share the amazing pharmacology found in the lush rainforests. Coconut demonstrations, cooking lessons, song and dance celebrations, firewalking and kava ceremonies are regularly enjoyed by Lalati guests.
Lovo nights are a taste of typical Fijian feasts. Food is cooked in a traditional underground hot rock oven, producing smokey, delicate and tender chicken, lamb, fish and pork. Accompaniments include kokoda (fresh fish marinated in lime juice and coconut milk), rice-stuffed pumpkin, palusami (local spinach stuffed with meat or vegetables and coconut milk), root crops, salads and fruit trifle.
Weddings
Tropical destination weddings are a specialty at Lalati Resort & Spa. Your wedding planners will assist you in choosing a unique site to share vows - barefoot on the beach under a floral arch, under a thatched bure at the edge of the pier, on a private beach accessibly only by boat, on the sea via boat cruise at sunset, even underwater or on a surfboard before you catch a double overhead!
Lalati staff takes care of the details, ensuring that your Fijian wedding is everything you dream it should be.
Spa Facilities
Lalati’s Loloma (from the heart) spa features 3 private treatment rooms including a wet room. The gifted therapists are trained and schooled, but also skilled in ways that cannot be taught, but must be handed down from one generation to the next.
Treatments are 100% nature based. Holistic treatments utilize only the most natural and purest ingredients found, harvested from our local surroundings. Papaya, pineapple, mango and guava, pure virgin coconut oil, sea salt, Fijian raw cane sugar, seaweed, local nuts, star fruit, leaves from the banana and ti plants, are all featured in body wraps, scrubs, facials and signature massages.
A Lalati specialty is the Moonlight Massage. This surreal experience takes place during the full moon as it cuts a silver swath across the waters of the bay, where you enjoy a candlelit massage at the end of the pier.
Fishing
Sportfish outside the reef for tuna, wahoo, walu and mahimahi. Our punt type boat will take you out to where the "big ones" are biting. Trips include rods reels, guide, tackle and bait, with refreshments served on board.
Kayaking
Malumu Bay is nature-made for kayaking expeditions. Board single or double kayaks and explore the rugged coastline. Let your activities guide take you to Bat Island, where hundreds of fruit bats (flying foxes) make their home. Or spend a full day kayaking "through" Beqa Island! At high tide the island of Beqa splits into 2 separate islands, right at the end of our bay. Your guide will kayak through mangrove forests and through the island to the other side, where a picnic lunch is delivered via boat. Picnic on a sandy beach, snorkel and explore, then kayak around Beqa back to the resort for a full day adventure, or take the boat back for a half day fun.
